A number of employees have expressed concern that they must decide whether to request a voluntary separation incentive payment (VSIP) or buyout before they know whether they will have a position in the new Division of Extramural Activities Support (DEAS) at their current grade level. Although buyout requests must be submitted no later than March 1st to your Executive Officer, an employee can withdraw the request at any time prior to their separation date. Currently, the latest separation date for employees taking the buyout is April 3rd. If you are considering a buyout please keep in mind that you have the option of withdrawing your request as late as the day before your separation date, but only if you complete the request and provide to your EO by March 1st.
