Dear Colleagues:

The Division of Extramural Activities Support (DEAS) is now offering training for its new staff, including employees who will be reassigned to DEAS and those newly hired by NIH for DEAS. Training is also offered for DEAS customers—the extramural staffs in the ICs that will be supported by the new Division. To view the DEAS training schedule for September and sign up for classes, go to http://extramuralmeo.nih.gov and click on the links under DEAS Training.

Training for DEAS staff on ECARES, the electronic work request and tracking system, is offered on September 16, 17, 20, 21 and 23. Check the training schedule to see which classes are open to all DEAS staff and which are for task leaders only or supervisors & quality control specialists only.

ECARES training for IC customers is offered on September 22.

Orientation to the DEAS standard operating procedures is available for both DEAS staff and IC customers (at separate times) on September 20, 21 and 22.

Training for DEAS staff on IMPAC 11 applications for committee management and review is offered on September 17, 27, 28 and 29.

Training for DEAS staff on the IMPAC 11 Web Query Tool (Web QT) is offered on September 30.

Additional training classes will be scheduled for October, and we will send you that information as soon as it is available. If you have questions about DEAS training, contact Renetta Washington, DEAS Hub B Manager, at deasmanagement@mail.nih.gov.
